Cig-a-like

 

In the early days of the vaping industry, cig-a-like devices were commonly used as this was your only option. They are instantly recognisable as they are made to resemble a real cigarette, often the size of one and coloured like the real thing.

These devices mostly use a cartridge refill instead of an atomizer. This isn't desirable for two reasons:

• The cartridges themselves are very inefficient
• Produces very little vapour.
• You have to keep purchasing cartridges specific to that device
• You are trapped into only buying from that brand and cannot upgrade in anyway other than replacing the product.

Instead of the atomizer being separate it is contained within the cartridge, meaning it is expensive to replace when refilling.

Most vape shops will not sell these kind of products as they use old technology. A vast majority of retailers that sell this kind of product are newsagents and supermarkets due to the fact most cig-a-like's being sold are made by the tobacco industry.

Advantages

• Very small in design
• Cartridges are easy to change

Disadvantages

• Constantly needs charged
• Poor vapour production
• Very expensive to run
• Lacking in flavour
